COMMUNITY SERVICE A WAY OF LIFE FOR PUBLIX AND ITS ASSOCIATES
Today at the Town of Palm Beach United Way and many other United Way’s across the country we are celebrating “Publix Appreciation Day.” When it comes to outstanding community partners, there is no doubt that Publix Super Markets has made a positive, lasting impact in countless people’s lives. The partnership between United Way and Publix has continued for decades.
This year the Palm Beach Publix associates donated $30,700 to the Town of Palm Beach United Way – that’s a 13% increase over last year. Publix Charities also provides a corporate match of their employees gifts – so over $53,000 will be invested in Palm Beach County helping people improve their quality of life.
Time and time again Publix and its associates have demonstrated that they are “not just a supermarket” they are making a difference in our community. So when you are shopping today in the store “where shopping (and giving) is a pleasure,” please tell an associate that you are thankful for their help in our community, and their support of the Town of Palm Beach United Way. I know I will.
Since 1945, the Town of Palm Beach United Way has invested more than $60 million into Palm Beach County because of generous donors like you. Although some of the needs since 1945 have changed, the Town of Palm Beach United Way is still helping people who struggle with hunger, homelessness, job loss, abuse, mental illness and more.
