WEEK 34 OF ACTION: TIS’ THE SEASON FOR GIVING
The Palm Beach Daily News Toy Drive began 22 years ago, when the paper decided to collect toys for children in need throughout Palm Beach County. The annual toy drive has consistently grown each year in the number of toys, gift cards, and cash donations.
Many families in Palm Beach County struggle year-round, but this is especially true during the holiday season. Last year through the generosity of donors, thousands of dollars and hundreds of toys were collected for so many children, who would otherwise be deprived of the joy that is most associated with the holidays.
The toy drive is a community collaboration between the Palm Beach Daily News, Palm Beach Fire Rescue, Town of Palm Beach United Way, and this year the Society of the Four Arts. This year’s donations will benefit the children served at four of the Town of Palm Beach United Way partner agencies: Families First of Palm Beach County, Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County, Home Safe, and the Center for Child Counseling.
This year make a child’s holiday special through a donation to the toy drive. It is our hope that every child will experience the joy of opening at least one gift this season. From now until December 8th, please drop off a new unwrapped toy to one of the following locations:
Palm Beach Daily News, 400 Royal Palm Way, Suite 100
Palm Beach Fire Rescue North Station, 300 North County Road
Palm Beach Fire Rescue Central Station, 355 South County Road
Palm Beach Fire Rescue South Station, 2185 South Ocean Boulevard
Town of Palm Beach United Way, 44 Cocoanut Row, Suite M201
Society of the Four Arts Children’s Library, 2 Four Arts Plaza
Don’t want to buy a toy? Checks can be made out to the Town of Palm Beach United Way with “Toy Drive” on the memo line.
